Credit Report ReviewReviewing your report is especially important for individuals who are interested in making large purchases like buying a home or car. These consumers should consider pulling their reports about 6 months prior to these purchases to allow enough time to dispute any inaccuracies. Inaccuracies could mean higher interest rates on these purchases, which means they will cost you more money. Please contact us for information on how to dispute your credit report errors.
Once you have pulled your credit report one of our credit counselors would be happy to assist you with reviewing the report, correcting any errors, or advising you on taking the necessary steps to correct a negative mark.
What's in a Credit Report?FairIsaac is the most commonly used credit report and score when making large purchases such as a house or car. Using the information in your credit report, such as your payment history and debt to income ratio, a score is developed (commonly referred to as your " FICO Score"). While FICO scores are the most common, each credit bureau has also developed a score for you, which will generally be around the same number as your FICO Score. Download FairIsaac's booklet "Understanding Your Credit Score" for information about what is in your score, and how to improve it
