financial education & management Account AuditAccount Audits

Debt-Free America provides an invaluable service to its clients which will help ensure success in a debt management program (DMP). After the third, sixth, and every sixth payment thereafter, your monthly statement is accompanied by a letter requesting your current creditor statements be submitted for audit. This procedure is vital to the success of your program and is of no cost to you.

Our trained auditors will review your file along with the individual statements carefully to ensure proper concessions are being provided and identify any potential areas where problems may appear.

You will then receive the results of this audit which includes detailed information about each account and if needed, instructions to remedy the problem area(s). A payoff sheet is also included (except in the first, third month audits) which will provide information about estimated payoff time and the original versus current interest rates and balances.

Instructions for obtaining an audit:

Obtaining an audit is easy. Simply submit your most recent creditor statement (preferably the last two received) for each account enrolled in your DMP by mail or fax. IMPORTANT: The entire statement must be received, submitting only the bill pay stub does not provide enough information to conduct an audit.

You should submit your creditor statements for auditing after you have made your third consecutive payment, if have not had an audit within the last six months or if you have never received an audit.

Mail your creditor statements to:
